Loman Russell Carter (Rusty) passed away February 1, 2023. Rusty was born Oct. 20th 1938 to Alsie Walker Carter and Chester Carter at Mt. Grove MO. Rusty has a son,  Tony Carter and a daughter Terri Carter Atkinson.

On June 10th 1989, Rusty and Lynn Wilson were united in marriage. Rusty gained 2 children Kimberly Wilson and Richie Wilson through this union.

Rusty was a Carpet Installer by trade. He continued to work into his 70’s, often even using family members to assist him on some jobs.

He was an avid competitive bowler with Lynn and other family members and friends.  He made many friends over the years through bowling.

He loved Nascar and Stock Car racing , collecting memorabilia , bargain hunting, telling stories, and decorating the yard.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Glenda Thomas.

He is survived by his wife Lynn Carter, his son Tony Carter and wife Diane,  a daughter Terri Atkinson and husband Will, a stepdaughter Kimberly Root and fiance Brad, a Stepson Richie Wilson and fiance Ashley Wright, 12 grandchildren Alexis, Brandi, Bryan, Kaitlyn, Kristian, Kyra, Shawn, Breanna, Kolton, Tyson, Rylan and Ryder and 8 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday Feb. 7th,  ,2023 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation from 11:00-1:00 at Greenlawn East, Springfield, MO.

Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Springfield MO.
