Elizabeth “Ann” (Ginn) Hindman was born on July 21, 1944, to Ted and Lula Ginn from Elwood, MO. She graduated high school in 1962 from Willard, MO. Upon graduating high school she worked at the Springfield News Leader in many capacities for the next seventeen years. Ann left the paper to be a stay-at-home mom. She reentered the workforce as a finance manager at 166 Auto Auction in Springfield, MO. She made many friends through the years of working there.
When she retired, she began traveling and she enjoyed this a great deal. She became an expert on planning trips to Disney World. She loved the beach so some of her favorite times were family trips to Florida and any place she could get Sonny to go. She also enjoyed fabulous trips to Europe and trips with her friends. She visited Italy, Scotland, France, The Greek Isle, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, Mexico and England where she even got to wave to Queen Elizabeth.
Ann was a skilled craftsman and had a life full of adventure with her husband Sonny on motorcycles, boating, and going to antique car shows. One of her favorite past times was scrapbooking and making handmade greeting cards to give to friends and family for any occasion.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Sonny, of 49 years; son Jimmy King, his daughter Maddy and wife Jenny; stepdaughter Becky Mathis and her husband Gerald and their children Nathan, Ryan and Kailey, Kailey’s husband Jordan and their children Brecken and Bo; son Adam Hindman, his wife Charity and their children Katie and Lilly.
Ann loved life and was usually the life of the party. She will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 24th, at Greenlawn Funeral Home-East from 5:00 – 7:00. This is a come and go service for anyone who wishes to pay their respects.
