Patsy Ann Hood, 83 years young, went to be with Jesus on July 3rd, 2023, at 4:20 in the afternoon. Patsy was born on April 11, 1940, to Allean and Barney Barnhouse. She attended Bolivar schools and graduated in 1958.
Patsy worked for Jesters in her younger years and was employed by Hackers Dental office, where she met the love of her life, Robert Hood! She was saved at a young age and was a faithful member and helped teach Sunday School of The First Baptist Church in Bolivar, Missouri, until her death.
Patsy and Robert were united in marriage on March 31, 1962. To this union three children were born: Penny Kay (Hood) Artz, Jimmy Eugene Hood, and Terry Gene Hood. They loved their children deeply and raised them to love the Lord. The farm is where they raised their children, working the land and milking cows. They had a wonderful marriage of 28 years, before Roberts passing. Mom was employed at O.A.C.A.C. until retiring after 36 years.
Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved them immensely! Patsy baby sat so many children in her lifetime and loved every one of them. She’ll have a lap full in Heaven! The quilters were a huge part of her life. They laughed and they loved each other, but not a one quilted a quilt!
She will be deeply missed, but we know she’s in Jesus’ arms, where he will say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”
Patsy is survived by her two children: Penny Artz (Doug) and Terry Hood. Grandchildren: Cody Artz (Katie), Samantha Artz (Russell), Annie Artz, Zach Myers, Emily Hood (Eric), and Shelby Hood; great-grandchildren: Dayton, Hurley, Memphis, Blake, Cole, Brinlee, Maverick, Lodie, River, Willow, Meadow, and Paisley; one sister, Linda Benner (Larry), and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, Jimmy; her parents, Barney and Allean Barnhouse; her siblings: Charles Barnhouse, Bill Barnhouse, Bob Barnhouse, Doris Blankenship, Rose Matthews, and Janet Skidmore.
A visitation for Patsy will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO. A graveside service will be held at Star Ridge Cemetery near Louisburg, MO., on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.

Aunt Pat will be truly missed. Her life was others. The great memories of the Barnhouse Christmas Eve party at the Hood farm live forever in my heart and in the hearts of my children. She always had time for us. Every time we'd visit Bolivar, she'd stop in and see us.
