Bruce A. Lawhon, 66, Springfield, Missouri, passed away August 14, 2023, at Mercy Hospital. Bruce, son of Charles and Gladys Lawhon, was born on September 22, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bruce attended school in Tulsa, Republic, and Springfield, graduating from Hillcrest High School in Springfield, Missouri in 1974. Bruce was an avid fisherman and he also loved music, golf, woodworking, and being outdoors. He was self-employed, working as a handyman and doing remodeling construction.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lawhon; his mother, Gladys Lawhon Metz; his stepfather, LeVerne Metz; grandparents, Cliff and Polly Biggs; wife, Angie Marshall Lawhon; special friend, Debra Rumage; and son, Robert Lawhon. He is survived by his sister, Kathy (Don) Bumgarner of Rogersville; children, Noah (Kim) Lawhon of Diggins, Candace (Ryan) Stoll of Columbia, Wade (Jessica) Lawhon of Republic; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A special thank you to the staff at Springfield Skilled Care Center who cared for Bruce, where he resided for the last nine years. At Bruce’s request, there will not be a service.
