Karl Arthur Swope, age 72, passed away April 29, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born to Arthur and Farris Swope on August 13, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Karen Gill Swope; Daughter Leslie Swope Monroe (husband Todd); Son Luke Swope (fiancee Paulette); Grandchildren Aislie Monroe and Reilly Monroe; Sisters Barbara Swope Grace and Patti Rieker Hansen; Niece Pam Grace Townsend; and Sister in law Paula Gill.
Karl was a man of many talents and worked hard his whole life. Enlisting in the Air Force after high school, he became a jet engine mechanic during the Vietnam War. After leaving the military he enrolled in Chiropractic college. Once he retired from Chiropractic practice, he helped his Dad with construction projects. He was a general contractor for Prost Builders and a general handyman before he stepped into full retirement. He fully embraced the role of Pop-Pop, family handyman, and prayer champion.
He loved living a quiet life close to family and marveled at the heavenly display morning and night. 1Thessalonians 4:11-12
He had a ready testimony, and his deepest desire was for everyone to know the truth, whose name is Jesus.
