Sheryl June (Palmer) Lathem age 75 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on April 26, 2024. She was born June 24, 1948 in Springfield, MO. the daughter of Alma Arveda Palmer and Roscoe Palmer. She was united in marriage to Douglas Leo Lathem on November 25, 1967.
Sheryl was a homemaker and a mother to her two sons. Giving them the best care a mother could give until they were ready to leave home and even then, she worried every minute of every day. Nobody had a bigger, softer heart than Sheryl. Especially when it came to animals. Hearing about a case of animal abuse would upset her to the point of crying. Her TV set was always on the Hallmark Channel. She loved to talk and be among groups of people. In the grocery store, in Target, in the DMV line, in the Doctors office. It didn’t matter. Being a member of the Red Hat Society for over 12 years supplied a much needed fix for her. She loved every minute of those 12 years.
Sheryl’s oldest son, Jerry George preceded her in death in 2017.
Survivors include two sons: Douglas Dale and Jeffrey Boyd and husband Douglas Leo, all from Broken Arrow, OK. Also surviving from son Jerry George, are three grandchildren: Rachel, Jesse and Jacob and five great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Saundra Looney of Nixa, Cindy Cornog of Ozark, Rose Marie Fredrick and husband, Don, of Kissimmee, Florida, and Melody Stout and husband, Ron, of West Plains: 11 nieces and nephews: Robin, Scott, Allen, Lori, Marty, Erin, Christy, Caren, Michelle, LeAnn, and Emily.
