Charles “Charlie” Elbert Duncan, age 88, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on May 10, 2024, at The Gardens Assisted Living. Charlie was born to Walter and Edith Looney Duncan on July 29, 1935, in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School in 1953. Charlie proudly served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1952-1960. Charlie was employed as a Diesel Shop Foreman with Burlington Northern Railroad. When not working he enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time at Table Rock Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Duncan; mother, Edith Looney Duncan; sister, Donna Duncan Fritz; and brother, Howard Duncan. He is survived by his sister, four children, six grandchildren, several nieces, and one nephew.
A memorial service for Charlie will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, 3:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield.
