Daniel William Sleeth, 75, passed away in his home in Ozark, Missouri on May 20,
2024.
Daniel was born on June 20, 1948 to Reverend Clifford and Pearl Sleeth in Springfield,
Missouri. After Dan graduated from Parkview High School in 1966, he spent several
years working at Zenith and later was employed by International Harvester. He spent
the majority of his career working as a mechanic at Springfield Public Schools Bus
Barn. He also worked at Cars Across America and with his brother at Sleeth Hobbies.
Dan loved his Lord and Savior and was often seen with his Bible in hand. He loved his
family and was very proud of them. He affectionately referred to his beloved family as
“four-eyed yay-hoos,” and he loved singing and dancing to “Little Red Riding Hood.”
Dan was passionate about cars; he loved working on them, attending races, watching
NASCAR on TV, and he was even known to drag race in his earlier years. Dan also
had a love for animals, especially dogs. In addition, he enjoyed taking pictures and
looking at photo albums.
Dan is survived by his three children, Brian (Dana) Sleeth of Columbia, Chrystal
(Casey) Forbis of Ozark, and Tammy (Randy) Watts of Springfield, along with several
cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother David (Jeanne) Sleeth,
nieces Debbie (Allen) Webb, Diana (Jim) Garland, and Delores (Steve) Johnson, other
family members, and friend Barb Stivers.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, sister Peggy Frazier, and brother-in-law Benny
Frazier.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 31st from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Greenlawn
East in Springfield, followed by a graveside service at Eastlawn Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
