It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Edward Roy, who peacefully left this world to enter Heaven on June 15^th, 2024 in Springfield, MO 65803. Born on October 1st, 1951, John was a devoted father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the community.

John graduated with a bachelor’s degree, and pursued a career as a Certified Public Accountant in the accounting industry, serving clients with dedication and professionalism. Known for his meticulous nature, and care for his clients, John’s work left a lasting impact on those he helped throughout his career.

In his personal life, John found joy in the simple pleasures of providing for his family, supporting his grandkids, watching Chiefs football, spending time with his family, reading, canoeing, and cultivating his garden. His generosity, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit.

John is survived by his son Brian Roy (Mickie Roy), daughter Angela Bounds (John Bounds), son Travis Roy (Tena Reel), and grandchildren Trevor Roy (Hannah Roy), Cooper Roy, Carter Roy, Braeden Bounds, Connor Bounds, and Ellie Bounds; siblings Jackie Murphy (Mike), David Roy (Sharon), as well as nephews Michael Murphy (Kim), Ethan Murphy, Chris Murphy, Jason Roy, and Aaron Roy. Their memories with him will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

In honor of John’s life, funeral services will be held at Greenlawn North Funeral Home. A visitation will take place on June 19^th, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8 pm.  The funeral service will be held on June 20^th, 2024 at 1:00 pm, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

John Edward Roy will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We also celebrate that he is now enjoying the sweet fellowship of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as those that have gone on before him (his beloved wife of 46 years, Cindy Roy; his father, Jack Roy; and his mother, Doris Gose).
