Duron Buford Heasley
Born March 10,1933. Passed into God’s eternal realm October 3, 2024.
Born in Glencoe, AR to John and Vivia Heasley, the middle of five children, he was the last to pass, having survived older brother Deward, older sister Lodilla and younger brothers Denvard and Delson. He is survived by his two sons Wayne Lydell Heasley and Larry Jay Heasley born to him by his wife Clara Mae Heasley who passed in 2009. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law Jeanne Heasley and Liz Heasley and his five grandchildren (Johnathan Heasley, Michelle Esselman, Lauren Leighton, Levi Heasley and Lucas Heasley) and six great-grandchildren (Jude, Logan, Silas, Rhowen, Collins and Banks).
He is also survived by his wife Corena Heasley who he married in 2013, who brought him great joy and lovingly cared for him so tenderly in the final stages of his walk on earth. He is also survived by Corena’s daughter Deanna Ellis.
Duron served his country in military service from 1953 to 1955, at the rank of corporal, serving as a mechanic in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service he began working for Kraft Foods in Springfield, Missouri, serving in a number of capacities and shift schedules in his 38 years of service.
In addition to his factory job, he was almost always working odd jobs to provide a little extra for his family. He could do it all. He roofed houses, painted houses, added on decks, and pretty much anything else someone needed done. He built several houses from the ground up, from the laying the foundation, to framing the walls, putting up the rafters, roofing, sheetrock, painting, pouring the concrete sidewalk and driveway to building and installing the kitchen cabinets. He was also a capable auto mechanic and was known to repair and paint auto bodies from time to time. And his family always had home grown corn, potatoes and green beans, among other things, from his large backyard garden. He was a true example of a hard worker and definitely a man of many talents.
Most importantly he was a faithful and dedicated Christian. He frequently used his many skills to the aid of his fellow Christians and served as a Building and Maintenance Deacon for many years. He taught his sons the value of a good days work, the importance of providing for your family and what it means to be a servant of God.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.” – Colossians 3:32-24
