Ricky E. Maggard, age 72, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on November 20, 2024. He was born on November 16, 1952, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Jesse E. Maggard and Anna Lee Crawford. Ricky was one of thirteen siblings and grew up in a large, loving family. Ricky married the love of his life, Brenda Caldwell, on April 16, 1971. Together, they raised three children: Richard Maggard, Ronnie Maggard, and Anita McNary. Ricky’s love for his family was evident to all who knew him, and he cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A skilled mason, Ricky worked tirelessly as a stone and brick contractor, contributing to the construction of many homes across Springfield and the surrounding areas. He was proud of his craftsmanship, always ensuring that each job was completed with care and precision. Ricky had a passion for fishing and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was especially devoted to his wife, Brenda, their beloved dog Aggie, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He deeply valued his faith in Jesus Christ, often sharing his belief that “if it’s not in the Bible, it didn’t happen,” and he was a firm believer in the importance of sharing God’s word.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Richard and fiancée, Heather Hill; daughter, Anita McNary and fiancée, Justin Stacey; son, Ronnie and wife, Keri Maggard; five sisters; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, as well as several siblings.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, 2:00 pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor George Compton officiating. Ricky will be laid to rest at Hall Cemetery in Chadwick, Missouri.

Ricky will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
