Patsy was born in Mexico, MO. on September 29th, 1928 to Charles H. Pulis and Nancy Alice Pulis. She passed away on November 25th, 2024 in Springfield, MO. She was 96 years old.
Patsy graduated from Mexico High School and attended Missouri University for two years. She taught in a one room country school for one year before marrying Everett Eugene (Gene) Butler, who was a student at Washington University School of Architecture in St. Louis after returning from service in the Navy. There, she was a secretary at John Burroughs High School in Ladue, MO.
After Gene graduated, they and their baby daughter, Eugenia, moved to Springfield Missouri where Gene worked for a local firm for a few years. Geoffrey was born there and they soon left to move to Columbia, MO where they lived for ten years. Gene founded his architecture firm, Butler and Associates, and during this period Brock, Becky, Ben and Daniel were added to the family.
The family moved to Springfield in 1963 where Gene expanded his architectural practice and Beth was added to the family. In 1971, Gene, who was a pilot, was killed in an unfortunate plane crash.
She studied and became a real estate broker, took national property manager classes, and completed her college degree at Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University). She finally found the perfect job at the Parisian Pantry, a retail kitchen shop and cooking school where she was employed for ten years. Pat made many life time friends at the Pantry.
She loved to laugh and found much humor in everyday life. She was an avid reader and was never without a book in progress. She loved to bake and made many pies, cakes and cookies through the years. She taught herself to sew, and enjoyed making many of her own clothes
She later married William Bergmann Sr., he was perfect man to fit into her life filled with grown children and many grandchildren, they all loved him. He had a great life until his passing.
In later years, Pat enjoyed traveling with her family to weddings and adventures, she was so proud of her family. In 2021 she became a resident of Turners Rock. Survivors include her seven children and spouses, two stepchildren, fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Her indomitable spirit, love for life and her family will continue to inspire us all. There will be a family ceremony later.
