In Loving Memory of Reggie Galyean
March 3, 1950 – April 8, 2025
Reggie Galyean, age 75, of Walnut Shade, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, surrounded by family.
Reggie was born to the late Dale and Juanita Galyean on March 3, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He grew up with his late brother, Ron, in Springfield, Missouri and attended Glendale High School. It was there, at age 12, he met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, 10 year old Brenda Dobbins whom he fondly referred to as honey-bunny throughout their 55 wonderful years together. He always said it was love at first sight. They had three sons, Rick, Brendan and Brad.
Reggie pursued his passion for helping others by attending and graduating from the University of Missouri–Kansas City pharmacy school in 1974. He served the Branson community for more than 30 years as the owner and pharmacist of Family Discount Drug, which was both the name of the pharmacy and his core values in operating it. He was known to fill prescriptions in the middle of the night, compound life-changing medications for his patients and an unwavering commitment to kindness, integrity and dedication to the people he served.
Reggie was warm and wise. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and respected member of his community. He enjoyed traveling, family dinners, had a deep love of the natural world and a lifelong fascination with outer space. He had a passion for baseball and was a lifelong Cardinals fan — something his sons, devoted Royals fans, graciously forgave him for. Above all else, he found his greatest happiness in spending time with his family and friends.
Reggie is survived by his beloved wife Brenda Galyean; sons Rick, Brendan, and Brad Galyean; daughter-in-law Maria Galyean; grandchildren Kylie, RJ, Brooks, Gia, Jaxon, and Drew Galyean; brother-in-law Craig Dobbins; nephew Ryan Galyean; and nieces Kaye Harmsen and Emily Anderson.
Reggie’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home-Branson.
