She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Gradt; her parents, James and Mildred Barnes; and her sisters, Gwen and Betty. Sandy’s life was a beautiful example of kindness, compassion, and faith. Together with her husband Paul, she welcomed exchange students from around the world into their home, treating each one as family. Her warm and generous spirit left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Known for her infectious laugh and radiant smile, Sandy had a gift for making others feel at ease. Whether she was traveling with Paul and Anthony, fishing at the lake in her travel trailer, or lovingly tending to her 47 houseplants, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Her green thumb and love for gardening were matched only by her love for others.
Sandy was a woman of deep faith and unwavering strength. Her home was a sanctuary of peace, love, and laughter—a place where strangers quickly became friends. She listened without judgment, encouraged without hesitation, and loved without limits.
Though she will be dearly missed, Sandy’s legacy of warmth, generosity, and faith will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
