Bettie Aarline Bybee was born on March 29, 1940, in Schell City, MO, to Nellie Irene and Clarence John Bybee, the 9th of 10 children, she passed away May 4, 2025.
Bettie was preceded in death by her sisters Claribel (Wayne) Overton, Marilyn (Marshall) Henderson, Neomia (Bud) Keller, Rena (Elvin) Payne, Reva (Leo) Keller, Gloria (Mac) Maclaughlin, brothers Henry Bybee, John Bybee, and Kenneth Bybee; 3 Nieces Carolyn (Overton) Leadley, Marye (Overton) Averil, and Becky (Henderson) Kennedy.
She is survived by, her husband, Joe Hunter, sister-in-law Dorothy Bybee and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bettie was saved at a young age at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. On March 28, 1975, she was married to Joe Hunter, and their lives were dedicated to God, family and faith.
Her interests were rocks, flea markets, and a wide variety of crafts. She loved gardening and was an expert seamstress. In addition, she took great joy in her entire family.
Bettie graduated from Collins High School, then moved to Kansas City, where she spent her entire career with Southwestern Bell then AT&T. Services will be held at Pitts Funeral Home Bolivar, on Friday, May 9, 2025,
Visitation is at 1:00PM, with services following at 2:00PM, burial at Robinson Cemetery, Collins MO.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Robinson Cemetery, P.O. Box 122, Collins MO.
