William “Bill” Gary Schmidly, 84, of Mount Vernon, Missouri went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2025.
He was born in Reeds, Missouri on November 22, 1940.
Bill graduated from Duenweg High School in 1958 and married Carol Ann in 1962.
Bill was an entrepreneur/inventor and general contractor- from building custom cabinets in high school, to building homes, inventing the Country Flame wood burning stove, and running a team of 200 persons in manufacturing that stove -he was a hard worker with a tenacious spirit.
He is survived by his children; Scott Schmidly and Kim Perry, and grandchildren; Ellie Jones, Spencer Perry, and Paige Hulbert.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years; Carol Schmidly, his parents; Arthur and Una Schmidly, and grandson; Dustin Schmidly.
Visitation will be Friday, June 6th at 12:30, with the funeral service following at 1:30pm, at Life 360 Chesterfield – 2220 West Chesterfield Blvd. Springfield, MO 65807. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
