Kaye DePriest was born June 14, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa, to William H. and Lena (Williams) Miller. She passed on to heaven September 23, 2025, at the age of 93.
Her family moved to Springfield, Missouri when she was a child. As a young adult, Kaye was employed at Carr Shade Factory.
Kaye accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age, and she loved serving Him by ministering to others.
She and James H. (Jimmy) Pillow were united in marriage on July 31, 1953. To this union a daughter, Susan (Dutcher) was born.
After Jimmy’s passing, Kaye was united in marriage to Wayne DePriest on August 7, 1976. Wayne brought two minor children to the marriage. Kaye loved and raised Melanie (DePriest) and Jill (Chainey) as her own daughters. Wayne and Kaye also shared two adult children Alan DePriest and Joyce (Thompson).
Kay is survived by her children, three sisters—Sue (Oscar) Ramirez, Malinda (Kenneth) Hickey, Darlene (Jack) Ducker—seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, four sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 28th from 4:00-6:00 pm, at Greenlawn South, 441 W. Battlefield. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29th, 11:00 am at the funeral home.
