Douglas Ray Ward, age 61 of Bolivar, MO, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025. He was born October 17, 1963, to the late Ray and Melva Ward.
Doug was a man who found joy in the simple things of life. He loved being outdoors – hunting, fishing, tending to his garden and canning the harvest to share with his family. His life was defined by the example he set of hard work, generosity and kindness.
Doug is survived by his wife, Julia Ward; brothers Tony Ward (Cindy), Ronnie Ward, and David Ward; four stepchildren he lovingly raised as his own: Deana McIntosh (Adam), Sarah Wilkinson (John), Rachel Dees (Billy), and Josh Scheppmann (Debra). He was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Doug will be remembered for his big heart, his love for the outdoors and the countless memories he created with family and friends. Let’s not forget the many Jokes!
