Hugh Gary Cooper, age 80 of Springfield Missouri passed away on October 31 2025. He was born on November 15 1944 in Springfield to Joseph Atlas and Fannie Cooper. Hap was united in marriage to Anita on April 17 1965. They had one daughter Sara.
Hap retired from Sweetheart Cup after 33 years. He then worked for Racebrother’s for 9 years as a small engine repair man.
Hap was proceeded in death by his wife of 57 years Anita. His parents,brothers Joe,Bob,James,Charles,Wayne,Paul and Walter. Sister Maggie. Nephew Mike and nieces Beverly and Mary. Hap had a great love for all animals and his beloved Ollie preceded him in death.
Hap is survived by his daughter Sara. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. Hap also has special friends and special neighbors Jay and Stella Morton.
A graveside service for Hap will be held on Tuesday November 4 2025 at 11:00 am at Rose Hill Cemetery in Willard Mo with Reverend Larry Cooper officiating.
