Alice Charmaine Hale, 69, Strafford, Mo. Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Alice Hale, a woman full of compassion, boundless love and unwavering strength, went to join her beloved family members waiting for her in Heaven on December 21, 2025. She had an endless well of love and support for all those she loved.
Alice was born to Elmer Ray and Wanda Alice Blevins on January 14, 1956, in Kansas City, MO. Alice attended high school at both Strafford High School and Nevada High School, both located in Missouri. It was while she attended Nevada High School she met the love of her life in March of 1973, Jerry LaFon Hale Jr., they married six months later when Jerry joined the United States Army, and they were stationed in Germany.
She loved her family above all else, and because of this they always came first, even before her own wants and needs. She was an avid reader, and her wealth of knowledge was beyond amazing. Alice also had a passion for traveling. She was always up for a trip and adventure. Be it a simple day trip to locations like Elephant Rock, traveling along Route 66, or a vacation to the beach or mountains. As long as she was with family, she was up to going anywhere and she loved to drive.
Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda; father, Ray; brother, Ralph “Topper” Manes; stepfather, Harold Glaze; grandson, Sean Jareth Campbell; husband, Jerry Hale Jr., and many beloved pets.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Campbell and Christina Hale; son-in-law, Chris Perry; grandchildren, Alex Campbell (Mackenzie), Anthony Perry (Danielle), Raya Whitener (Aaron), and Jordan Perry; great-grandchildren, Elena, Adrian and a precious baby on the way; sister, Laverne Manes; niece, Samantha Manes; great-nephew, Tripp Hasewell; mother-in-law, Olene Hale; several in-laws, nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Rosie, Molly and Romeo.
Alice’s love for her girls, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Laverne, Samantha, Tripp and her dogs was unmatched. No one could love as much as she did, and she was beautiful inside and out. She was the best mother anyone could ask for. Her daughter’s closest friends even referred to her as mom. Alice was the “cool” mom, and her daughters and daughters’ friends knew they could talk to her about anything.
A special thanks goes out to Jessica Conway Turner, one of Alice’s bonus daughters, who was instrumental in providing love and support to her “sisters” in planning and arranging her bonus Mom’s funeral arrangements which had to be so hard for her, too.
Alice will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life for Alice will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm, Saturday, February 28, 2025, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with visitation to follow from 4:00-5:00 pm.
