Connie Carromae Osgood, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2026, at the age of 88 in Springfield Missouri.

Born on February 19, 1938, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Connie lived a life marked by grace, generosity, and unwavering devotion to God. She possessed a rare gift for making every person she met feel valued, welcomed, and loved. Whether opening her home to friends, family, students, or strangers, Connie created a place of warmth, laughter, friendship, and unforgettable meals. Her kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Music was one of Connie’s greatest passions and lifelong callings. As a dedicated piano teacher, mentor, and leader in the Springfield music community, she touched countless lives through her instruction and encouragement. She was a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) via the Music Teacher’s National Association (MTNA). She served as Director of the Young and Petite Artists of SAMTA, was a former President of the Springfield Area Music Teachers Association, and coordinated the Beverlie Roper Competition for Young Artists.

Through more than fifty years of teaching piano to hundreds of students, Connie inspired generations of students to pursue excellence, discipline, and a love for music. Many of her students went on to become teachers and performers themselves, carrying forward the lessons and values she so faithfully imparted. To many, Connie was the matriarch of piano education in Springfield.
Above all else, Connie treasured her family. They were the center of her heart, and she delighted in celebrating their accomplishments, supporting them through life’s challenges, and creating cherished memories together. Her legacy will continue to live on through each of them.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Justin and Carromae Peck; brother, Dennis Peck; and her sisters, Rita Gallus, Gaylon Peck, and Karen Peck.

She is survived by her husband, Brenton Osgood; her daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and John Battaglia of Springfield, Missouri; Tamera and Tom Sherwood of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Julia and Bryan Peetoom of Grayslake, Illinois; eight beloved grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Lynndon Peck of Minnesota; and many other cherished family members.
Connie’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, hospitality, service, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, those who know her find comfort in the assurance that she is now at peace in her heavenly home and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Central Assembly of God Church in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Funeral services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
