Joy Diann Hoskins (Ragsdale)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joy Diann Hoskins, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 17, 2026, at the age of 57.
Joy’s life was defined by the things and people she loved the most – her faith, her family, her animals and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She found comfort and strength in knowing Jesus throughout her life.
Joy worked for many years at Cox North Hospital. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way.
More than anything, Joy loved her family. She adored her nephews and cherished watching them grow. She found great joy in being an aunt and great-aunt, celebrating life’s milestones and creating memories. Her love extended beyond people as well. Over the years, she opened her heart and home to many dogs and cats treating each one as a treasured member of the family.
Joy had a lifelong love of sports. As a child, she was a devoted Cincinnati Reds fan and proudly built an impressive baseball card collection. Later she enjoyed cheering on Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls during their championship years. Whether she was watching a game, casing a fishing line into the water, or feeling the sand beneath her feet at the beach, Joy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.
Those who knew Joy will remember her loyalty to the people and pets she loved, her witty personality, and her ability to find joy in the little things. She leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured by family and friends for years to come.
Joy was preceded in death by her grandparents, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joy is survived by her mother, Carol Allen; her father and stepmother, Roy and Yve Ragsdale; her sister, Jill Templeton and her husband, Randall Templeton, her nephew Ryan Templeton and his wife Caitlin Templeton, her nephew Reece Templeton and his wife Whitney Templeton; her great nephew, Calvin Templeton; and her great-niece, Everley Templeton.
A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn North Cemetery on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Springfield or Care Animal Rescue of Springfield.
