Iris I. Blevins, 91, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at Birch Pointe Health and Rehabilitation, surrounded by the love of her sisters.
Iris Iretta Teal Blevins was born on November 15, 1934, in Crossroads, Missouri, to Chesley and Ruby (Howard) Teal. She graduated from Ava High School and spent her life in Missouri, where she built a legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion to her family.
On April 23, 1976, Iris married the love of her life, Tommy Blevins. Together they shared many happy years. Tommy preceded her in death in 2022.
Throughout her working years, Iris was employed in manufacturing, working for Lily Tulip, Mac B, and most recently Foster’s Manufacturing. She took pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic.
In her younger years, Iris enjoyed horseback riding, water skiing, and attending stock car races. She and Tommy especially loved spending time together exploring flea markets. She also found great joy in tending to her flowers and treasured every opportunity to celebrate birthdays with her sisters, whom she loved dearly.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Tommy Blevins; her daughters, Michelle Swan and Janice Sue Underwood; and two siblings, Lorene Nicopolis and Jerry Teal.
She is lovingly remembered by her two grandsons, Austin Evans Moody and Jacob Evans Moody; her brother, Kenneth Teal of Ava, Missouri; and her three sisters, Betty Ridenour of Ava, Missouri, Margie Butler of Rogersville, Missouri, and Wanda McElfish of Springfield, Missouri, along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri. Iris will be cremated, and a private interment will take place at a later date.
