Jeff Harrison, 68, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully after a short, courageous fight against cancer on June 30, 2026, surrounded by family. Born December 4, 1957, in Kankakee, Illinois, to John Harrison and the late Janet Lewis Harrison, Jeff graduated from Parkview High School and proudly served in the United States Army.
In his younger years, Jeff was a standout athlete at Rolla High School before his family was relocated to Springfield his senior year. After High School, Jeff joined the United States Army and was proud of his service to his country. After leaving the Army, Jeff moved to St Louis to attend SLU. While there he worked at a pizza place where he would meet the love of his life, Linda Jones Harrison. On a trip to St Louis with her future sister-in-law, Teena, they went to eat at a pizza place where Jeff worked. He spilt a pitcher of water on Linda, yet somehow, they were together since that day. They were married on Easter Sunday, April 3rd, 1983. From this union two children were born Chad Harrison and Andrea Harrison. Jeff was a long-time employee in the car business, most notably at Mayse Automotive and Thompson’s Buick GMC.
Even working long hours in the car business, Jeff’s passion was always his family. Despite a 45-minute commute one way to work every day he never missed one of his children’s sporting events, school events or activities. Jeff’s hobbies were anything sports and his Big Green Egg and making Sunday dinner every week. He loved to play golf and watch his favorite teams, The Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Missouri Tigers.
Jeff was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who valued family above all. He is survived by his wife, Linda Harrison; his children, Heather Shelton, Chad Harrison (Abby), and Andrea Harrison; and his grandchildren, Caleb George, Phoenix Harrison, Hudson Harrison, and Hadleigh Harrison. He is also survived by his father, John Harrison; and his sisters, Teena Lutz (Dale) and Shelly Fox (Dan) and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Lewis Harrison.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn East.
We will remember Jeff for his quiet strength, steadfast love for his family, and his service to his country.
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so He put His arms around you
and whispered, “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
