It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susanna Jo Hood, affectionately known as Susie, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Susie left this world on July 2, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on November 3, 1946, in Half Way, Missouri, she became a beloved member of the Springfield community, where she resided at the time of her passing.

Susie dedicated her career to healthcare as a Dietary Manager, passionately serving others and nurturing their well-being. Her selflessness and dedication to those around her made a lasting impact, as she touched countless lives through her work. She will be remembered for her compassionate spirit and the warmth she extended to everyone she encountered.

Family was the cornerstone of Susie’s life. She often expressed how blessed she felt to have her loved ones by her side, declaring that they were her greatest joy and fulfillment. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, including her loving daughter, Terri Hood; her sons, Joe Davis and daughter-in-law, Jamie Davis and Jeff Fenton and her cherished grandsons, Dustin Hood, Tyler Hood and her granddaughters, Maggie Davis, and Maya Davis. Each of them will hold her close in their hearts, cherishing the countless memories and lessons she imparted.

A deeply religious woman, Susanna found strength and joy in her faith throughout her life. Her positive spirit and steadfast devotion inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her. Although she is preceded in death by Joe Hood and Nora Hood, her enduring spirit will remain alive in the love and faith shared by her family and friends.

Susanna’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were touched by her life. May she rest in peace, knowing she will live on in our cherished memories.
