Joyce Villers Thompson age 90 of Branson passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026 at her home with her daughter by her side.
She was born in Cabool, Missouri on September 13, 1936 to Fred & Evelyn Dove and then later adopted by her step-father Virgil Faulkner. At the age of six weeks they moved to Diamond to be near her mother’s family.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jon Henry Thompson, her sister Joan Cosolo, her brother Ben Faulkner, her youngest daughter, Peggy Bernard Adams and her granddaughter, Amanda Hulland Metcalf.
Thanks to the blessing of a blended family her tribe increased greatly, she is survived by her daughter, Diane Villers Craig of Missouri, Jon Reece Thompson of Texas, and Michael Thompson of Tx. Granddaughters Rachel Langenfeld of Nebraska, Sarah (Nick) Penna of Missouri, Shauna Thompson (Joel McGrath), Reece Fletcher Thompson (Hannah) all of Texas as well as Ann Elizabeth Thompson and William Michael Thompson all of Texas. Adding joy in her life were 8 great grands Avery Langenfeld and Zoey Langenfeld of Nebraska, Clay Penna of Missouri and Nickole Penna of Illinois. Cora McGrath, Graham McGrath, Rosemary Thompson and TheodoreThompson all of Texas and the totally unexpected delight of two great great grandsons Carmine Penna and Ira Penna all of Missouri.
Mother had a good life as a successful business woman and owned Taney County Title for 25 years. She and Jon were able to travel quite a lot.
As per Mother’s wishes there will be no services. Arrangements and cremated were under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
