Mary Katherine Husley (Tucker) passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mo.

Mary, daughter of Loyd and Susie Tucker, was born November 3, 1961, in Bourbon Mo.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. and son, Joe L. Hulsey; parents, Loyd and Susie; in-laws Roscoe and Ruth Hulsey; siblings, Robert Tucker, Shirley (Tucker) Sherrill, Linda (Tucker) Poire, husband Ron, Norma Jane (Tucker) Lewis, husband Neil, Glen Tucker, wife Kathy and Uncle Lewie of the home; nieces, Beth (Tucker) Finkbeiner and Sonya Tucker.

Mary is survived by granddaughters, Grace and LillyMae Hulsey; daughter in law, Andrea (Triplett) Hulsey, sister, Janice (Tucker), and husband Dwight; sister-in-law, Jane (Holcombe) Tucker and brother-in-law Rick Sherrill. Mary is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews with special mention to Nathan Poire (Amber) and Angela (Poire) Early (Robert).

I don’t want to miss mentioning her faithful furry friend, Brandy. Brandy became her “sidekick” 15+ years ago after Kenny passed away and stayed by her side until recently when Brandy became ill and Mary had to say goodbye to her just days before moving to Springfield.

For years, Mary and Kenny attended the First Missionary Baptist Church, Bourbon Mo. While helping with young people, often bussed to the church on Sunday mornings, they realized many attended hungry, so they made sure there were snacks and juice available. Mary worked various jobs, including working in a nursing home and as a real estate broker.

Mary was “onery”. As the baby of the family she could get away with things that amazed the rest of us, but if needed she would fiercely defend her family. Mary had a soft heart; it was hard for her to turn away anyone that needed help, whatever it may be. Mary loved cherry peppers and home grown tomatoes. The day before she passed, her last meal included home grown tomatoes.

Mary will surely be missed by family and friends.
