Jerry Walter Scott, born May 15, 1943, passed away on September 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of hard work, family, friendship, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Jerry was a true Missouri “good ol’ boy,” born and raised with strong values, a hardworking spirit, and a heart for the people and things he loved. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated more than 35 years of his life to the State of Missouri Highway Department. His strong work ethic and commitment were a testament to the kind of man he was.
Jerry’s greatest love story began long before marriage. He and his beloved spouse, Karen Lee, had known each other since the third grade. After 62 years together, their bond was built on a lifetime of love, companionship, laughter, and shared memories. Karen remained by his side through all of life’s seasons.
Jerry is survived by his devoted spouse of 62 years, Karen Lee; his daughters, Kerry Lachelle and Allison Lee; his sister Joyce Carmicheal and many family members and friends who will forever remember him for his hard work, humor, generosity, and loyal spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Geneiveve Scott.
Outside of his work and family, Jerry had many passions. He was active with the Missouri Fox Trotting community for many years, making lasting friendships and enjoying something he truly loved. He was also a gifted woodworker and was known as a true woodworking pro.
Jerry lived his life the way he knew best—with hard work, determination, loyalty, and love for his family. He leaves behind more than memories; he leaves a legacy of a life well lived and the example of a man who could always be counted on.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
