It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Victor Jean Perry, who departed this life on September 29, 2026, at the age of 35. He was born on February 16, 1991, in Columbia, MO, at Boone County Memorial Hospital.
Victor was happiest when he could be outdoors, fishing, working with his hands, or fixing cars. He had a natural ability to figure things out and was affectionately known by those who loved him as “Mr. Fix It ALL.” If something was broken, Victor was often the person people called because they knew he would find a way to make it work again. More than anything, Victor genuinely loved helping people. Whether someone needed something repaired, a helping hand, or simply someone they could count on, he was willing to step in and help. His generosity and willingness to be there for others are qualities that will be remembered and deeply missed.
Victor was a deeply loved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His life touched so many, and although his time with us was far too short, the love, memories, and connections he created will remain with his family and loved ones forever.
He leaves behind his loving husband, Anthony Perry, and their two beloved dogs, Nikki and Groot, who were an important part of the life and home they shared together.
Victor was the beloved son of his mother, Penny Dunn, stepfather, Kenneth Dunn, and stepmother Ruth Fugate, He is also survived by his brothers, Samuel Fugate, Jesse Fugate, and Jason Fugate. He was a cherished brother-in-law to Crystal Duke and a loving uncle to his nephew, Ramerro Duke, and nieces, Ja’Myrah Cotton, Lea’Yanna Cotton, and Yemaya Duke. Victor is also lovingly remembered and survived by a multitude of extended family members, cherished friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched throughout his 35 years.
The outpouring of love surrounding Victor is a testament to the many meaningful relationships he formed and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know and love him.
Victor was preceded in death by his father, Michael Fugate; and his beloved sister, Christy Fugate. We find comfort in believing that Victor has been reunited with those who went before him.
Victor will be remembered not simply for the way his life ended, but for the life he lived—the relationships he built, the love he shared, the laughter and memories he created, and the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew him. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Victor’s life and identity were an important part of who he was. His family hopes that his memory will be honored with the same love, dignity, acceptance, and compassion that every person deserves.
The loss of Victor has created an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of his family and loved ones. As we mourn his passing, we will also celebrate the 35 years of life, love, and memories that can never be taken away from us.
Victor, you were loved in this life, you will be loved beyond it, and you will never be forgotten.
May you rest peacefully, surrounded by love.
