Aaron Joseph Sippy
December 20, 1993 – June 22, 2021
Aaron Joseph Sippy was born December 20, 1993 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Aaron is the second born son of Jeffrey and Cindy Sippy. Aaron has an older brother, Clayton, and a younger brother, Jason.
Aaron is a believer in Jesus Christ. He is baptized into the Christian faith, as a child, and publicly confessed his Christian faith in his youth. Aaron rests in the assurance that “Baptized into Christ’s death to sin we are also Baptized into His resurrection to new life,” Romans 6:3-5.
Aaron is a gifted and beautiful child. Aaron graduated from Kickapoo High School in 2012 with high honors and in the top 5% of his class. He received a score of 31 on his ACT. He was also a member of the honor society and student council.
Aaron excelled at athletics. He played hockey, soccer, ran track, and was a standout defensive end on the football team. Aaron began weightlifting when he was 13 years old and by his senior year in high school, he could bench press 325 pounds.
Aaron’s favorite memories are camping and backpacking with his family, trips to hockey camp in Minnesota, annual trips to St. George Island, Florida, trips to Seattle, Washington to visit family, and annual ski trips to Colorado. Aaron and his dad climbed seven 14,000-foot mountains in seven days one summer.
Aaron graduated from the University of Missouri with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 2016. Aaron worked as an engineer for United Rotary Brush International in Lenexa, Kansas, and most recently for Holloway America in Springfield, Missouri.
To Aaron’s teachers, coaches, mentors, advisors, and classmates, you have been an incredible blessing to him in this life, and we pray God’s grace and blessing for you.
Aaron struggled with depression for the last five years of his life, which was complicated by alcoholism the last three years. Aaron completed his earthly life by suicide on June 22 at 4:30 p.m.
We grieve the sudden loss of Aaron’s presence in our lives and that the last years of his life were sometimes lonely and sad. Yet we look to Jesus, God’s Son, for grace and hope; we cling to precious memories of our beautiful, wonderful, and incredible boy to make us smile; and we are grateful to each of you.
We praise God for each of you for your kindness and love. We are especially grateful to Rosa Snyder for her prayers for Aaron; friends John and Jerre Hall, Cape Girardeau, MO, and Derieck and Maureen Hodges, Cape Girardeau, MO; Randy Colwell, Justin Perkins, Dave Simpson, Michelle Reinsch, and staff at Holloway America; and to Aaron’s two best friends, Chandler Scott and Rob Schroff.
Aaron is preceded in his completion of life by his paternal grandparents, Don and Lita Sippy, Federal Way, WA; and by his maternal great grandmother, Nelda Stuckmeyer, Columbia, IL.
