Abigail Dawn Clements Furlong of Springfield, MO, was born on November 29, 1979, and passed from this world on August 6, 2025, at 45 years of age. Abigail, known as “Abbey” to her family and friends, was born and raised in Springfield. She attended Parkview High School where she was active in marching band and color guard. She continued on to MSU where she obtained her degree in Sociology.
She was involved with Wesley House, a Methodist ministry on campus where she met her husband, David Furlong. Abbey and David were married 20 years, raising their beloved dogs Daisy and Willow. Abbey worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts for 20 years.
Abbey was preceded in death by her grandparents Dale and Audrey Clements, and Marmon and Dawna Grover.
She is survived by her husband David, her parents Doug and Judy Clements, in-laws John and Pat Furlong, sister-in-law Heather Hasdemir, and Alicia Furlong, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Abbey will be known for her quick wit, infectious smile, and her love to help other people.
