A. Alice Webb Chester entered this life on a warm August Monday in 1943 on the family farm near Edge Hill, Missouri. She was the youngest of five children born to Arley Bert and Virgie Alice Clements Webb. Born with a doll-like appearance, she was a beautiful little girl and was the angel of her siblings’ heart.
Growing up on the farm, she had to participate in all the hard work and the chores that are necessary, however, she learned to play the piano at a young age, developing a talent that could bring a church congregation to its feet or a soul to its knees. Her youthful beauty blossomed into a stunning natural elegance that she carried throughout the rest of her life.
Alice was a loving and devoted mother to Michael, Sheila, and Darrell. She worked with a loving heart to provide them with a safe, secure, comfortable home and childhood. During her career in administration at Reynolds County Hospital, she met the love of her life, Dr. C. Preston Chester. They later married and built a life together in Branson, Missouri, until his untimely passing in 1998.
She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her grandchildren with all her heart. Her home was always open to her entire family for holidays and special occasions, and she was generous with both her attention and affection to those she loved.
A follower of Jesus Christ, Alice lived her faith daily and sought to honor God as best she could in all that she did. The Webb family attended the Mount Pleasant Church in Goodland, Missouri and the seeds of her strong faith were planted at a very early age. She was currently a member of Victor Baptist Church in Branson, Missouri, where she worshiped with a heart full of gratitude.
On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Alice peacefully entered the presence of her loving Savior, surrounded by her family at her home in Branson, Missouri. Our memory of her will be of love, faith, and kindness that will be forever cherished.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday 17, 2025 at Victor Baptist Church in Branson with Pastor Kenny Robinette officiating. A visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at 3:00 at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at Granby Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
