Alice Daniels, age 75, of Springfield, Missouri, peacefully passed away at her home on October 11, 2022. Alice was born to Ralph Jackson Compton and Minnie Fern (Allen) Compton on January 1, 1947, in Springfield. She was raised in Springfield and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1965. Alice was united in marriage to Ray Daniels on February 8, 1969, at North National Church of Christ in Springfield. Alice was a member of Watermill Church of Christ and regularly attended when she was able. Ray and Alice were blessed with three loving children.

Alice retired from General Electric after more than 30 years of outstanding employment. Alice enjoyed taking long walks along the banks at Stockton Lake, especially with her husband Ray. She had many hobbies and interests including gardening, growing flowers, watching birds, painting, and shopping at Maurices. When not eating St. George’s donuts, watching Swamp People, or reading her favorite romance novels, Alice enjoyed listening to gospel music, especially by Elvis. More than anything else, Alice enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren. Each one of her grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to her life. Christmas time was always Alice’s favorite time of the year. It represented what was most important to Alice—her Lord and her family.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Roy Peak; and brother, Gene Compton. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ray; her children Dale Daniels, Tonia Tillman and her husband Mike, and Troy Daniels and his wife Molly; her brother Tony Compton and his wife Diana. Alice is also survived by seven grandchildren: Betty, Bethany, and Marina Daniels; Alyssa Starnes and her husband Aaron; Kensi Tillman; Logan Daniels; and Brooke Daniels. A special great grandchild, Emri Starnes, added even more joy to her life.

A visitation for Alice Daniels will be held at Greenlawn North Funeral Home on Sunday, October 16, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Alice’s wonderful life will be held at Greenlawn North Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2022. at 10:00am. Following the funeral, Alice will be laid to rest in the Danforth Cemetery near Strafford.
