Almeda Mae Elliott went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2011, in Maranatha Village in Springfield, Missouri.
She was the daughter of the late Joel and Eunice Valley, of Washburn-Presque Isle, Maine. She was born May 28, 1917. She graduated from Washburn High School and Zion Bible Institute, East Providence, Rhode Island. In 1938 she went to India as a missionary and married Leon Elliott, of Littleton, Maine on January 11, 1939 in Lucknow, India. They returned from the mission fields of India and Africa in 1963. Upon returning to Springfield she worked at the Assemblies of God Headquarters as secretary to the Pentecostal Evangel Magazine for 19 years. She was a long-time member of Central AG.
Almeda was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leon. She is survived by daughter, Margaret Ann Cook and Doretta Crawford and husband George; grandchildren, Cheryl Falkner and husband Tim and children Grayson, Madison, Christian and Nathan, Shari Nichols and son Alexander, Michele Bilton and husband Jamie and children Anna, Max and Brooks, Michael Crawford and wife Shonna and children Gavin and Aubree.
Visitation will be in Greenlawn Funeral Home East from 4 to 6 p.m., on Friday, February 4th. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 5th, in Greenlawn Funeral Home East and will be conducted by the Reverend Hubert Morris. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maranatha Auxiliary or Calcutta Mercy Ministries.
