Andrew Charles “Andy” Baldridge passed away on September 3, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 93. Born on July 4, 1931, in Willow Springs, Missouri, Andy dedicated 20 years of his life to the Air Force, flying fighter jets before transitioning to teaching in flight pilot school. Following his retirement from military service, he continued his passion for educating as a high school teacher in Lebanon, MO, where he achieved tenure. Later, he worked as a bank courier until his second retirement.
Andy was a graduate of Willow Springs High and furthered his education at SMS. His hobbies included golfing, dabbling in the stock market, and coin collecting, each of which brought him great joy throughout his life.
Andy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Hicks Baldridge, and his son, Andrew Jr. Baldridge. He is survived by his son, Harry Wade Baldridge and wife, Nell of Ozark, MO, and his brother, William Baldridge of Michigan.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Homes in Springfield, MO, with the arrangements. Andy’s presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
