Barbara Ann Holaday, age 75 of Rogersville, Missouri departed this life Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Cox Hospital South.
Barbara was born November 5, 1946 to Robert D. and Geraldine M. (Cook) Moore in Springfield, Missouri and was the youngest of two children. She was united in marriage to Steven A. Holaday October 20, 1979, and to this union two children were born.
Barbara is survived by her Husband of 42 years Steven Allen Holaday of the home; her daughter Miranda Marie Holaday of Marietta, Oklahoma; and her cousins David and Susan Boyd, John Patrick, Sarah, and Emma Boyd, and Linda and Harry Davis, all of Springfield, Missouri.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Christopher Moore; and her son, Thomas Allen Holaday.
Barbara graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School of El Paso, Texas in 1965 and continued her education to graduate in 1970 from Missouri State University. She then utilized her degree to teach severely handicapped students in Missouri State Schools. She Retired after 30 years of serving at Greene Valley State School in 2001. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed her extra time focusing on more quality development and time spent with her meat goats.
Barbara was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved to learn new things and always had interesting stories about the endeavors she had experienced or things she had learned; such as making hang gliders, studying reflexology, showing Afghan Hounds, having overwhelming amounts of knowledge on homeopathic wellness and pretty much anything in general; Barbara was a true wealth of knowledge. She had found her love for goats after her and Steve had bought and built Holadayfarm in the early 90’s. The passion and strive for quality grew constantly as Barbara developed her goat herd and looked forward to traveling to shows with them while being able to spend time with her friends and family. She was an active value to the meat goat community and served in associations such as the Missouri Meat Goat Producers from the ground up. If she saw a need for progression, she would put in the work to make it happen. Barbara was such a strong and intelligent woman that everyone wanted to be around.
Accused of being a saint sent from heaven, she made a great impact and left a huge footprint in so many people’s lives. Barbara had patience you couldn’t track, the most empathetic heart you would ever experience, and the most positive outlook that couldn’t be imagined. Her integrity and values made her a true Idol and she got so much joy from helping others find success in anything they wanted to do. Barbara’s daughter has always had one goal in life from a young age; and that was to be as amazing, strong, and down to earth as Barbara showed her how to.
