Barbara Helen Keith Voris, of Walnut Grove, MO., passed from this life on May 25, 2024, at Republic Nursing and Rehab, in Republic, MO, at the age of 95. She was born November 4, 1928, near Goodson in Polk County, MO, to James Henry (Jim) and Jennie Jones Keith. She went to Goodson Grade school, Halfway High School, and then graduated from Bolivar High School in 1947.
Barbara married Claude Earl (Buster) Voris on May 27, 1947. They were blessed to have raised seven children and shared 74 years together. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walnut Grove. She worked many years for the Bolivar Garment Factory in Bolivar, Missouri and Samsonite in Denver, Colorado. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and was a wonderful cook.
Barbara is survived by: daughter-in-law, Jerry Ann Voris, son, Bob Voris, and his wife, Linda, daughter, Becky Creed, and husband Jack, daughter, Betty Strong, and husband, Gordon, daughter, Bonnie Stroesenreuther, and husband, Dennis, son, Bud Voris, and Gina; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister Lena Kintz; sister-in- law, Leita Mae Keith, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Barbara was preceded in death by: her husband, Claude Earl (Buster) Voris; sons: Ben and Bill Voris; parents; beloved step mother, Mabel (DeGraffenreid Haralson) Keith, and 10 siblings (Ruth, Frances, Robert, David, Charlene, Jane, Dora, Ella Mae, Paul, and Joe).
The services for Barbara Helen Keith Voris will be held at Pitts Chapel, Bolivar, Missouri with Pastor Nolan Carrier and Associate Pastor Ken Wilson officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home Thursday, May 30, at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Reed Cemetery, Halfway, Missouri.
The family wishes to thank the Republic Nursing and Rehab Staff and Preferred Hospice – Ozark for the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the First Baptist Church of Walnut Grove, and in care of the Pitts Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes.
