Betty Ann Gregg, daughter of Marion Leroy and Grace Robb was born on December 21, 1924, in Springfield, Mo. She passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 98. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Glen “Shorty” Hogan; her husband Joe and one son Larry. Betty and Joe had been married for 55 years at the time of his death. Betty was united in marriage to Joseph Gregg on December 12, 1943, in Springfield, MO. and to this union, five children were born: Larry-deceased (Carole); Kelly (Susan); Kenneth; Melody Vernon and Valerie Leftwich (Jim). Along with her children, Betty is survived by 14 grandchildren: Terra’ Chrissy, Angela, Zachary, Isaac, Seth, Marjean, Michael, Levi, Adam, Anna, Hart, Wesley and Kyle. She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great grandchildren, one niece and many friends. Betty was a long-time member of Dale Street Methodist Church, now Pathways United Methodist Church, in Springfield. She grew up in Springfield and worked at KWTO Radio. While Joe was in the Air Force they traveled to Texas, Japan, Arkansas, Delaware, and Oklahoma. She was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou Football and could always be found watching the games on TV. She also enjoyed going to the casinos on bus trips with her friends. They retired in 1974. back to Springfield, MO. Betty was a special lady and will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial donations are suggested to Patriot Paws Service Pets or to another Veteran’s Charity.
