Betty Ruth Murphy, 83, passed away peacefully June 3, 2017 at Glendale Gardens in Springfield surrounded by her family. She was born November 14, 1933 In Lead Mine MO. to Samual and Sylvia Perkins. Betty was united in marriage to Wilton Murphy and from this union 3 children were born. She retired from Kraft Foods after 37 years of service. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Wilton Murphy and David Overturf, 6 brothers, 1 sister. She is survived by her 3 children; Gary Murphy (Karen), Tammy Randles (Dean), and Lori Murphy (Jack). Also surviving are 3 granddaughters; Amy, Sarah and Danielle, 3 great-grandsons, and 1 sister; Ardith Slater of Buffalo, MO. There are no services at Betty’s request, but there will be a Celebration of Betty's life on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 2-4 pm at the Event Center, Suite J, 1645 W Republic Rd, Springfield, MO 65807.
