It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Mae Wallace, born on June 24, 1930, in Ozark County, Missouri, who departed this life on February 25, 2025, at the age of 94.
Betty was the last surviving member of her ten siblings, and her life revolved around the love for her family and her children. A dedicated wife, she stood faithfully by her beloved husband, Eldon, throughout his military service and his musical endeavors, sharing in the experiences that marked their vibrant life together.
Faith was a cornerstone of Betty’s existence, instilled in her from a young age by her father, a Baptist minister. This deep-rooted faith guided her throughout her life and shaped her values. Upon relocating to the Springfield area, she and Eldon dedicated themselves as long-time members of First General Baptist Church, later becoming devoted members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church until Eldon’s passing.
Betty Mae Wallace is survived by her son, Randell Wallace and wife Carla; daughter, Paula Newton and husband Dwight; 3 grandchildren, Amber and husband Justin Ludwig, Amanda James and husband Quentin, and Caroline Wallace; 4 great-grandchildren, Max, Alex, Leo and Theo Ludwig, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, who carry forward the legacy of love and devotion she imparted to her family.

Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East on March 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM, providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather in remembrance of her life.
In honoring Betty’s memory, we celebrate a life lived with love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
