Billy Gene Roark, 87 of Springfield passed into heaven, Sunday, December 16, 2018. Bill was born February 22, 1931 in Mt. Grove Missouri to Eugene and Lucille Roark.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty, their son Larry and his wife Karen. Also, two sisters: Wanda Williams and Linda Craig. Two grandchildren, Brad Roark of Clearwater Beach, Florida and Kari Roark of Springfield as well as two great-granddaughters, Kailyn and Kinsey Stewart of Springfield.
Bill owned and operated Roark and Son Printing in Springfield for over 30 years. He was a past president of The Missouri Fox Trotters Association and was an inductee to the Missouri Fox Trotters Hall of Fame in 2003. He also received the coveted Mid-American Lifetime Achievement award from that same association.
He was a member of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Springfield Rotary Club. Bill was a regular Sponsor of area softball and basketball programs. As an active member of High Street Baptist Church, he led singing in The Companion Class for several years.
Memorial services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
