
Bobbie Day Fullington, 93, of Springfield, Missouri died November 23, 2024 of natural causes. Bob was born July 15, 1931 in a log cabin in Rural Route Conway, Missouri to Virgil Clyde and Sadie Eunice Fullington. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1949.
Bob married the love of his life Barbara Ann Mowery on December 8, 1956. They were married for 67 years. The two met at the Garbage Can Café at what is now exit 107 off of Interstate 44.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and greatly loved the outdoors. He enjoyed going to the Missouri State men’s and women’s basketball games and was a season ticket holder for both teams for many years. Bob was a big fan of the Springfield Cardinals as a season ticket holder for several years and St Louis Cardinals baseball teams watching many games with family and friends.
Bob started his work as a lineman on the Frisco Railroad, and then leased the Skelly Service Station at the Niangua Junction on Old Route 66. He was most proud being a labor union man. First working for Royal McBee, then MD Pneumatics and last 24 years for R.T. French’s as a machinist and maintenance repairman on the product lines.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Barbara; their children, Brent Fullington (Kesa), and Beverly Fullington; grandchildren, Jacque Mattson (Curt), Kristan Bowlin (Adam), Stephanie Arbelo (Danny Frieze), Phillip Schroff (Marissa), Robert Schroff and Rachel Schroff, along with 12 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil & Sadie Fullington, sisters Ester Lee Fullington, Wilma Jean Kloehn and brother Danny Wayne Fullington.
