Bonnie Jo Rogers was born on November 25, 1934. She passed from this life to the next peacefully and in her sleep on January 24, 2023 as a result of a long illness. She was in the home that she loved with her family present. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Juanita Philpott, her stepfather Charles R. Rosenbaum, brother Ron Philpott, husband Harry Kay Rogers, son Danny Rogers and grandsons Stephen Rogers and Gregg Philpott. She is survived by daughters Lynne Click and Laura Langley, sons Bruce Rogers and wife Holly, David Rogers and wife Sally, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Bonnie was the matriarch of five generations, all living in the Springfield area.
She was an avid reader and probably enjoyed working in her yard and gardens more than anything else. No dandelion or tuft of crabgrass was safe from her shovel. She brought the monkey grass that lined her driveway from the family home in Panama City Florida 53 years ago.
Bonnie was a kind and gentle spirit whose inner strength was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was always positive and never had a harsh word for anyone. She was a great mother whose children will love her always. She will be dearly missed by all of us who knew and loved her.
She will be buried in the family plot at Greenlawn North on January 27, 2023 after a private ceremony. Our family is grateful to the staff at the step down unit at CoxHealth and Cox Hospice for their professionalism and compassion and to the other healthcare providers who cared for her over the years. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
