Brian David Lins, 40, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 21, 2018 in Springfield, MO. Brian was born on February 21, 1978 in Columbus, OH. He attended Kickapoo HS and graduated from University of Missouri with a degree in Journalism. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Mike Lins, grandparents Joe & Elizabeth Osborne and Leroy & Betty Lins, and cousin Jamie Gentry. Brian is survived by his mother, Jeanne O. Lins, sisters Becky Newsom and Betsy Bruce, his beloved niece and nephews, Camden & Morgan Newsom and Caiden Bruce, and friends/neighbors that were like family, Janice and Keith Cox. Brian also left behind two dogs that he adored wholeheartedly, Maggie and Bubba.
Brian's quick wit, dry sense of humor, love of sports and heart of gold were truly appreciated by all that he met. He never met a stranger and will be missed by so many.
A memorial visitation will be Sunday August 26 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rescue One Pet Rescue who has graciously promised to find a loving home for Brian's two best friends.
