Caitlyn Kennedy-Rebecca Tummons was better known to those who loved her as Caity, Caitybug, Caitydid, Cakey and simply Bug.  She was a daughter, sister, grand-daughter, niece, cousin, and inspiration to many. She left this world suddenly on September 21st, 2021 at the age of 14, just 12 days shy of her 15th birthday.
She was the first born child of Adam and Andrea Tummons, born on October 3, 2006. She lived most her life at home in Springfield, MO but was fortunate enough to live in Texas and Washington while her father was in the United States Army.
Caity was a very special child who loved hearing her younger siblings cry, laugh, and play musical toys, especially with rattles.  She got so excited for her Daddy to whistle to her and she throroughly enjoyed watching cartoons.  One of her favorite activities was dancing with her Momma and spinning in circles. Her favorite person in the world was her Uncle Kevin.
She survived 30 surgeries and many hospital stays and doctor visits during her time here on Earth. Despite the doctor prognosis’ and life expectancy challenges, she enjoyed a very happy life full of smiles, and lots of love.
She was preceeded in death by her great-grandparents Kenneth & Vivian Bird, Bruce & Rebecca Crockett, Curtis & Patricia Hollandsworth, Juanita & Arnold Lewis, a baby cousin Matthew Simmons, and her uncle Ryan Cassidy.
She is survived by her parents, and her sisters Evangeline, 12, Jocelyn, 11, and her little brother Theodore, 2 of the home.
She is also survived by her maternal grandparents Kristy & Chris Stanton, Steve & Cindy Bird, paternal grandparents Paul Tummons, Candy & John Young, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family. In addition she was blessed with step grandparents Ronnie & Tammy Lewis, Anthony & Cristina Gourley.
Caity will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
A visitation service is scheduled from 2-4pm on September 25th, 2021 at the Greenlawn South Funeral Home in Springfield, MO.  Cremation to follow.
