Carl Robert Buckner
Passed away on August 30, 2021 with his family by his side. Born June 3, 1937 to Wilhemina and Ervin Buckner. He attended Pleasant Hope School where he met the love of his life Donna Ellison, they were married May 6, 1955. Carl worked on the family farm from a very young age. During the early years of his career he drove delivery trucks for several companies including Fadler’s Produce, Guys Chips and Little Debbie Cakes. In the early 1970’s he started his own construction business. He built and remodeled many homes and commercial buildings in the Springfield & Fair Grove area. If you could show him a picture, he could and would build it with a smile on his face. He enjoyed woodworking and sold items at local Farmer’s Markets and craft fairs.
Carl was the President of the Fair Grove Historical Society and President of the Fair Grove Senior Housing. For many years he proudly served on the Board of Directors of the Fair Grove Fire Protection District. He helped with the Fair Grove Heritage Reunion and was instrumental in helping with and advising on many of the projects that restored the Wommack Mill. In his early years he traveled with his family participating in truck, tractor and mini-rod pulls. His love for truck and tractor pulls remained with him throughout the years as he assisted with the Missouri State Fair Tractor Pull for 50 years.
