Carl Wayne Carpenter, age 72, of Brighton, Missouri went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on September 11, 2023. Carl was born to Carl Preston and his wife Marie (Quick) Carpenter on January 14, 1951 in Independence, MO. Carl was united in marriage to Roxanna (Dawson) Carpenter on June 10th, 1972. Carl proudly served in the United States Marines before his honorable discharge. Carl was an active member of The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of the Valley of Joplin and Blue Lodge of Pleasant Hope #467. He had a passion for public speaking and presenting in his capacity as a Mason. Carl made friends everywhere he went and never met a stranger. He loved to spend time playing his guitar, spending time with his family and enjoying life. His love for sweets and candy was a passion he shared with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Carl Preston Carpenter. He is survived by his wife Roxanna (Dawson) Carpenter of 51 years of marriage, daughters, Jennifer (Josh) Gage, Mandee (Daniel) Arthur and Carla Young. His grandchildren: Bayley Young, Ryan Young, Preston Carpenter-Ford, Abygayle Young, Brayden Gage, Alexys Young, Averee Arthur, Jaxson Arthur, McKenlee Arthur and great-grandson Parker Blair. His mother Marie (Quick) Carpenter and Siblings: Beverly Carpenter, Gerald Carpenter, Robert Carpenter and families.
A visitation for Carl will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with services starting at 3:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations to help cover the costs of funeral expenses.
