My prayers and condolences to the family specially to Brittany and Steffany who I met when they were very young. I will always remember how caring and kind Carla was to my daughter Nichole when we were in the States. She would often bring Nichole home from school and sometimes invite her to their home for a playdate with the girls. Carla I very much appreciate all that you did during those times that we were grieving the sudden loss of my husband♥️ You will forever be in my heart ❤️

My sweet auntie Carla, I love you so much and I know that you will always be by my side . I pray that you look after the girls and auntie Theresa. One memory that comes to mind was when I was about 5/6 years old . You were volunteering at Park Western and it was during the colonial fair . I ran out of tickets so quickly , I could barely buy anything or play any games.. without hesitation you bought me more tickets and played numerous games with me . Throughout our time together at Park Western you always spoiled me whenever there was a bake sale /book fair lol . Even after the move to Missouri, you were always just a text message away. I am so grateful that we all got to be together last September. It seemed like no time had passed at all , you have been there for me my whole life and I will love you forever . Give my dad a big hug for me ❤️ I love you auntie

Carla was my sister, and we shared the same mother, Gloria Spurgeon. She also had four other brothers and sisters, Esther, Victor, Suzy, and Raymond. During my years as an English teacher at Fleming Middle School, I was able to see Carla. There are stories about Carla I would like to share with her daughters someday. Carla was a beautiful young girl, a loving mother, and a woman who always put her family first. I am thankful to have communicated with Carla in the last years of her life and learned so much about her dreams and wishes. Carla, rest in eternal peace and may you walk with our mother now.

Carla was a wonderful woman of God. She always was kind and generous to everyone she knew. She had a lot of love to give and she gave love away freely. I will miss you my dear friend. God bless you and your family.

Carla and I met 23 years ago in the auditorium of Leland elementary. We were the first 2 parents ready for our babies Britt & Steph to start kindergarten. We immediately connected and ended up becoming great friends! We changed our kids schools together and we both went on every field trip we could we also were always volunteering in our kids classes every chance we could! She would always talk about all her children and how much she loved them. She was a true friend something that’s very hard to find in this life. She was there for me when I went through one of the hardest times of my life in losing my husband! Not only did she listen to me cry and offer me comfort she made the slideshow for the services and made herself available to me anytime I needed. Over the years she would send me messages of memories of us or of my husband and I and she always knew how to say things just right to make me feel good and comfort me! When she made the decision to leave Cali my heart hurt so bad! I knew that one of the best friends I had was leaving and I knew she would never be back. Although she was far away we stayed in contact online throughout the years. She was always offering me comfort in my times of need by just a message! She always knew when I was down because that’s what a true friend does. You have been missed by me for so long since you left Cali years ago and now the thought of never being able to message you or hear your positive words or encouragement leaves an emptiness inside of me! My friend I know you are no longer suffering and I know you are now resting in eternal peace! I love you Carla see you later my friend!

Carla was a beautiful soul. I had the privilege of working with her and watching her beautiful children grow. She will be truly missed for her genuine spirit, her feisty attitude and her beautiful smile. May God continue to keep her family today and every day to come. So sorry she's gone, but so happy she's resting and no more pain! She was a Southern California girl with a Southern California spirit! Our loss is heaven's gain..
