Carless Leroy Stokes was born on July 5, 1926 in Niangua, Mo to Ira and Lola Stokes and passed away on March 1, 2017 in Springfield, MO. He married Elizabeth Davis in 1945 and to this union four children were born. He married Ann Farmer Davis in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Elizabeth, brother, Warren Stokes, sister and her husband, Laura June and Jim Belongy and son-in-law, Jerry Mansfield. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Ann (Annie) Stokes; his children, Karla Messick (Larry), San Marcos, CA, Michael Stokes (Nancy), Lebanon, Marilyn Mansfield, Fillmore, CA and Steven Stokes, Panama City, FL; step-daughters, Leesa Davis, Macks Creek and Lynne Davis, Springfield; 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great -grandchildren; brother, Edward Leo Stokes (Ann);sister-in-law, Doris Stokes, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Carless served in the Navy, retired from the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad and enjoyed renovating distressed property for many years.
Visitation will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, on Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.with services at 2:00 p.m. following visitation.Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
