Carmon Dodds of Springfield, Missouri passed away on August 16, 2025 at age 89 in her home with her family by her side. Carmon was born to Bernie and Neva (Tennison) Frost on April 24, 1936 in Lutie, Missouri. Carmon married the love of her life, Jimmy Dodds, on her 19th birthday in April of 1955. Carmon and Jimmy celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in April of this year. The couple were blessed with two children: Tanya and Tina.

Carmon drove a school bus for 23 years for Springfield Public Schools. She loved the kids and they loved her. Carmon was also an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. Nothing, however, brought her more fulfillment than spending time with her family.

Carmon was preceded in death by her parents, Bernie and Neva Frost, and siblings Madeline Johns, Basil Frost, Helma Hash, Erma Clines, and Bonus Frost.

She is survived by her spouse Jimmy Dodds; her daughters Tanya (John) Stigall and Tina Snider; and grandchildren, Shannon (Eric) Holgerson, Rusty Asher, Kris (Melanie) Stigall, Tiffanie Snider, Kristina (Daniel) Pohlenz, James (Erica) Snider, John Snider, Kimberlie (Austin) Mitchell, and Tim (Hannah) Snider; as well as great-grandchildren, David (Aga) Holgerson, Isaiah Holgerson, Jessica Sparkman, Jacob Sparkman, Alex Minton, Andrea Minton-Snider, Logan Snider, Lincoln Snider, and Lucas Snider; and one great-great-grandaughter, Eden Holgerson. Carmon is also survived by one sister, Janice Dodds and a sister-in-law, Sandy Frost as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services for Carmon will be held at South Gate Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri on Wednesday, August 20th. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00pm with the service following at 2:00pm. Carmon will be laid to rest at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
